About Us

We are a 5th generation family owned and operated quartz crystal mining company located in Arkansas.  Originally the quartz was mined for commercial and industrial purposes.  During World War II the mine was placed under federal control.  Following the war the mine was returned to a commercial operation and leased.  In the 1980's Ron Coleman purchased the mine and focused on commercial mining.  In 1991 he opened the public digging area while continuing to dig crystals to sell to resellers. Soon after Ron added Crystal Ridge RV Park campground to the property to accommodate persons dig their own crystals to sell to businesses and needed an inexpensive place to stay. In 2014 Kevin and Kathy Coleman purchased the property and continue to operate it with their sons, Alexander and Josh Coleman.  The 3rd, 4th and 5th generation work together at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show and the Quartzsite Mineral Shows each year.  The sixth generation, Kynlee Coleman, is only 2 years old but is already at the mine most days.
