This is a beautifully hand-carved Elephant figurine made of soapstone. This Soapstone is a red and beige color, and the elephant's eyes are a bright green. An elephant with its trunk up is considered lucky.
Soapstone can be found in a number of colors, resulting from the minerals that have mixed with it. Green and pink soapstone are common in China, and black soapstone is found in Russia.
