Small Amethyst Cathedral
This Amethyst and calcite cathedral geode is simply radiant with beautiful shades of purple crystal points throughout. This geode was mined and stabilized in Brazil. To create the cathedral shape, the miners cut the Geode in half and polish what becomes the face, giving it a smooth, glass-like finish that accentuates its appearance.
Then next, cement is added to its base, the backside of the cathedral, and the sides, to protect and add stability to the many purple crystal points inside the cavity. The process also forms a base for the cathedral to stand upright.
Last but not least, they paint the cathedrals' exteriors, usually choosing a dark grey or black paint to match the actual volcanic stone where geodes are found.
Approximate Measurements: 5.5 inches in height & 5 inches in width.
Cleaning Instructions: Clean with a soft-bristle paintbrush to remove any dust. You can also use lukewarm water and a mild soap, rinse, then pat dry.
