This western sandstone wall art gouache painting is of a big horn sheep in neutral tones of cream, white, tan, beige, gray, black, and green.  The artist used finely ground minerals and stone powder with gum arabic to create the colors used in this painting.  Hang this original painting on a wall or place it on a mantle.  Sandstone is a stone of creativity.  Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of grains of sand, which are then cemented together by either quartz (silica), calcite, feldspar, or clay.  The artist states that she first carves the sandstone in a shape that will accommodate the scene she wishes to paint on the sandstone.  Please note: The sandstone is attached to a wooden base, and the hardware is already in place.
