Mexican purple opal rough, unpolished, uncut rock sold by the pound. This specimen is also known as Morado Opal and Opal Royale. Purple Opals are considered very rare. The purple color is occasionally found in Precious Opals in Australia and Ethiopia. Still, most of the Purple Opals you can find on the market are Common Opals for Jalisco, Mexico.
Nicknamed “Grade Opals,” these pretty gemstones range from dark blue to pastel lavender and are usually mixed with pure White Opal. Color tones will vary from beige, blue, pink, and wire-wrapped.
