Malachite is a very attractive stone. throughout most Malachite there are bands of different hues of green running parallel to one another. These wonderful green hues are due to a copper carbonate mineral in it. This stone has a medium grade of hardness. Its Mohs hardness is 3.5-4.
Malachite sometimes can be found intergrown and mixed with another stone, Chrysocolla, which forms Malachite Chrysocolla. It also has been found intergrown and mixed with Azurite, which then creates Malachite Azurite.
Cleaning Instructions: Malachite is best cleaned with a dry soft cloth. Avoid water because Malachite in water releases toxins, making the water poisonous to your skin.
Measurements: The size of the Malachite stones ranges from .75-1.50 inches long, .75-1 inch wide, and .50-1.25s inches tall.
