This polished carved Labradorite rock specimen is cut into the shape of an egg.   Labradorite is a Feldspar stone, and it is known for its iridescent qualities. Labradorite can be found in a many of colors, and it's best to view this gemstone from multiple angles because the color will change depending on how the light is hitting the stone.

 This stone has been found in deposits in Russia, Madagascar, Norway, Finland, and Canada, but it was first discovered in Labrador, Canada in 1770. The name of the stone comes from the region where it was originally found.
