Natural Purple Opal Slab Specimen Natural Stone

Natural Purple Opal is a variety of your typical Opal, except it has a vibrant and deep purple color, unlike common opals. The purple color within the stone is a result of Fluorite and Silica inclusions. Purple Opal crystallizes in the form of nodules and masses. Also, Purple Opal has a 4.5 to 5.5 hardness on Mohs Scale.

The category a Purple Opal falls in is a Mineraloid, and it is included in the Amorphous crystal system as well. Its luster is Sub vitreous to waxy, and its diaphaneity is opaque, translucent, and transparent.

This would be a gorgeous addition to any rock collector's addition, or to use by itself as decor for any space in your home or at the office.
