 Azurite Malachite is the combination of two different well-known minerals, the rich and sparkly azurite and the shades of green are Malachite. The name Azurite is derived from the Persian word lazhward, and it means blue. Malachite is from the Greek word molochitis, which means mallow plant. This stone’s name can also be shortened to Azurmalachite. It’s often carved into objects d’art and cut into cabochons.
