Sodalite has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 and is made of a chloric sodium aluminum silicate. Its name is from the plentiful amount of sodium that is in this particular stone. Sodalite is often found in the form of one big mass structure, not a crystal like structure. Typically this will be found in just different hues of blues and grays, but does involve some white like veins running throughout some.
Sodalite can be found in a number of places around the world, but the largest deposit that has been discovered so far is in Bahia, Brazil.
Measurements approximately: height is 7.5 inches and width is 3.5 inches.
Cleaning Instructions: You can clean this with a soft bristled paint brush or a damp soft cloth, then pat dry.
