The rich blue color of these sterling Turquoise earrings reminds one of the southwest sky.   Blue turquoise chips descend the wire and dangle just below the earlobe.

Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth: dry and barren regions where acidic, copper-rich groundwater seeps downward and reacts with minerals that contain phosphorus and aluminum.  This sedimentary process yields a porous, semi-translucent to opaque compound composed of hydrated copper and aluminum phosphate.
