This Amethyst and calcite cathedral geode is simply radiant. It is incredibly beautiful full of purple and different shades of violet crystal points. This geode was mined and processed in Brazil. To create the cathedral shape, the miners cut the Geode in half, and polish what becomes the face, giving it a smooth glass like finish accentuating its appearance.
Then next, cement is added to its base, the backside of the cathedral, and the sides, to protect and add stability for the many purple crystal points inside the cavity. The process also forms a base for the cathedral to stand on its end.
Last but not least, they paint the cathedrals exterior, usually a dark grey or black paint is chosen to match the actual volcanic stone where geodes are found.
