How To Clean Raw Quartz Crystals

Newly dug crystals should be rinsed to remove as much mud/dirt as possible.  It is important when cleaning a cluster to keep in mind that the points may be easily broken off.  Therefore, you must clean gently.  If needed, use a soft-bristle toothbrush.  After rinsing, place the crystals in Oxalic Acid (sold on this website: https://colemanquartz.com/collections/crystal-cleaner-oxalic-acid), cold soak for 3 to 7 days, remove the crystals from the container, and rinse thoroughly several times.  You will know that all the Oxalic Acid has been rinsed off the crystals when they no longer feel slimy.  Please note: If you do not thoroughly rinse the crystals, the oxalic acid will leave a yellow stain on them.  If so, you will need to go through the process again.   If the crystals you are cleaning have iron, manganese or other impurities that were encased in the quartz while it was growing, those impurities will remain within the quartz.

Once you have cleaned the quartz and have it displayed, it may get dusty.  To remove dust from crystals, rinse.  To remove another person's energy from a crystal, wash it with alcohol, then place it in a window or outside.
