This is a great combination, Lava rock and Hematite, the two truly complement one another! They took a piece of raw Lava Rock and carved it into an arrowhead, which makes up the pendant that you see. Then they topped it off with adding a Hematite bead on both sides of the arrowhead.
Hematite use to be referred to as "Blood Stone". The reason why is because when it is found naturally, the mineral Iron can be found throughout, and it sometimes would have rust on it, causing it to look somewhat red.
Lava Rock, also known as Basalt, is a wide term for a mineral that forms when Magma from volcanoes hardens and becomes solid and then turns into a rock.
