Black Smokey Quartz
This black beauty is white quartz, mined at Ron Coleman Mining in Jessieville, Arkansas, and enhanced to bring out charming black-to-gray tones. Enhancement is a heat process. It is heated to the point the aluminum within the specimen is burned out, which causes the beautiful black color. This smoky (smokey) quartz is also known as irradiated smokey quartz. However, the technology used to treat the quartz is the same process used to sanitize medical tools. Our smokey quartz is treated in the USA.
