This is a set of five Malachite tumbled stones. Malachite is a beautiful stone. In most Malachite, bands of different hues of green run parallel to one another. The wonderful green hues are due to a copper carbonate mineral. This stone has a medium grade of hardness. Its Mohs hardness is 3.5-4.
Malachite can sometimes be found intergrown with another stone, Chrysocolla, forming Malachite Chrysocolla. It has also been found intergrown with and mixed into Azurite, creating Malachite Azurite.
Cleaning Instructions: Malachite is best cleaned with a dry soft cloth.
Measurements: The size of the Malachite stones ranges from .75-1.25 inches long, .50-1 inch wide, and .25-.50 inches tall.
