How To Mine Crystals At Ron Coleman Mining
Share
Bring a small garden shovel, trowel or weeding tool and garden gloves to protect your fingers from cuts. You are welcome to bring a wagon, ice chest and canopy for your comfort. Also, it's not a bad idea to bring newspaper or baggies to separate the small points so they do not get chipped.
Find the place you want to dig and start at the bottom. Pulling the dirt towards you so that what is above the area you are working slowly tumbles down toward you. The crystals are most likely packed with dirt so be sure you use your thumb and forefinger to rub off dirt. A crystal cluster might just look like a packed ball of dirt. So, look through what you find before you discard. People have been known to walk away from a great find. Now, if you have been digging for 10 minutes and have not found a crystal, move over to another area. On the other hand, if you are finding crystals, stick to your spot until you fish them all out.
If you see something that looks like black glass, you have found a very clear crystal. Take it home and wash it off.
If you are not getting dirty, you are not digging for crystals. It is a dirty job and it is wonderful!
