A healed quartz crystal fractured/broke during the formation of the mineral when the Earth moved during a period of growth.  As the crystal continued to form, it grew together, healing the area where it had fractured (self-healed).  The healed areas are visible in the healed quartz crystals, but do not break the surface.  These healed quartz crystals are highly sought after, as they are used as energy crystals by Reiki practitioners and those who observe metaphysical traditions.  These energy-healing stones are sold by the pound in bulk.
