This is a very unique Pink Opal and Pyrite figurine. The big piece of pyrite is sitting on a black rectangular base. Then the fish, hand carved Pink Opal and pivots on top of the Pyrite! The fish is beautifully carved and has bright blue eyes.
Pink Opal is a type of Common Opal that is generally opaque and does not show the “fire” like that of Precious Opals. The color ranges from a bright baby girl pink to a pink-white, cream, or even lavender.
Pyrite has a bright metallic luster. Because of its gold color and metallic luster, it’s often mistaken for gold, which is how it earned the nickname of “Fool’s Gold.”
