Polished Black Obsidian Panda Figurine

 This polished black obsidian panda bear figurine was carved from a single piece of Obsidian mineral.  The Panda bear is a symbol of peace and represents the balance of the yin and yang energies.

1. Mohs Hardness - 5.0 to 5.5 (diamond is 10)
2. Black Obsidian is volcanic glass. It forms when volcanic lava cools so quickly.  This gives the rock a black, smooth, glossy shine.  Since obsidian forms from magma, it is an igneous rock.
3. Black Obsidian can be found in any area where volcanoes are found.  In the USA, the regions would include the Mountain West, the Southwest, California, Oregon, and Washington State.
4. How to clean - use a soft-bristle paintbrush to remove dust or a slightly damp cloth.
