This is a beautiful oval-shaped Opal pendant necklace with an ornate bezel and a solid, ornate bail.  The Sterling Silver chain is a box-style chain, measuring 20 inches in length. Notice the beautiful green iridescence. 

 The name "opal" is derived from the Sanskrit word "upala," meaning "jewel." There are hundreds of color varieties of this stone, and there are two types of Opal: The common Opal and the Precious or Gem Opal.

Cleaning Instructions: You can clean the Sterling Silver with a Sterling Silver jewelry polishing cloth.  You can clean the pendant with a damp, soft cloth, then pat it dry.  Never place opal jewelry in liquid jewelry cleaner or an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.
