Buy raw Snowflake Obsidian rough, uncut.  Natural, unpolished specimens are in bulk at our online rock shop.  This listing is for natural snowflake obsidian (volcanic glass) sold by the pound.  The sizes and colors of each specimen will vary slightly because these are a product of nature.  You will not receive the exact specimen shown in the image. 

 Obsidian is frequently cut into a flint in the shape of an arrowhead. It is an excellent specimen for rock tumbling.

How is snowflake obsidian made/formed?  Snowflake obsidian is formed from magma.  It is an ingenuous rock.  You will note there appears to be a film outside the rock. When it is cut or broken, you will see the shiny interior.   It can also be polished and or tumbled. This type of Obsidian gets its name, snowflake obsidian, from the multiple small white snowflake-looking inclusions all over it. These inclusions are called Cristobalite. Cristobalite is trapped minerals that have escaped to the surface while the lava was cooling down and then hardened.
