This Rainbow Onyx butterfly figurine is beautifully hand-carved.  It is somewhat opaque and highly polished.  Onyx does not naturally occur in a rainbow color.  Two pieces of onyx are epoxied together with paper in between to create the rainbow look. 

Onyx is typically made up of a few banded layers of chalcedony, depending on the color you are looking at.  Onyx is considered to be one of the most ancient stones around.  Some of the earliest civilizations commonly used onyx for ceremonies, burials, scrying, and even early magical work.

Measurements: This Rainbow Onyx butterfly figurine is 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide.

Cleaning Instructions: Do not immerse this butterfly.  Gently clean this with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Then rinse and pat dry.
